SERVICES
What types of photography does Freitag Photo offer?
We offer professional headshots, team photography, interiors and architectural photography, product photography, and brand and lifestyle imagery — all under one creative direction. We also offer ongoing visual content retainers for growing Calgary businesses that need consistent photography across multiple categories over time.
Can you handle our headshots and office photography in the same session?
Absolutely — and this is one of the core reasons clients come to us. We regularly photograph team headshots and commercial interiors in a single session. You get everything done in one day, with one team, producing imagery that looks like it came from the same place. Because it did.
Do you offer product photography in Calgary?
Yes. We photograph packaged goods, beverages, consumer products, and e-commerce assets from our Calgary studio. Full product styling and post-production are included. If you need lifestyle-context shots alongside clean product images, we can plan both in the same session.
Do you photograph interiors for real estate, interior design, and commercial spaces?
Yes. We photograph offices, restaurants, retail spaces, commercial real estate, and interior design projects. Our interiors work is built for clients who need imagery that actually converts — that attracts tenants, clients, or customers — not just photos that document a space.
What is a visual content retainer and is it right for us?
A retainer is an ongoing photography partnership. Instead of booking one-off shoots every time something changes — a new hire, a new space, a product launch, a rebrand — we build a regular cadence that keeps your visual library current. It's the right fit for businesses that are growing and publishing content consistently. Everything stays on-brand because we're already familiar with your look.
Do you do on-location shoots or only studio work?
Both. We come to your office, your space, or your venue — or we bring you into our Calgary studio. Most commercial projects are on-location at the client's site. We're mobile throughout Calgary, Okotoks, and the surrounding region.
PROCESS & BOOKING
How do we get started?
Start by sending us a message through freitagphoto.com/contact. We'll discuss what you need, scope the project, and build a custom proposal. Once you're happy with the plan, we lock in a date and get to work.
What does the shoot day actually look like?
We handle the planning so the day runs without confusion. Before we arrive, we've worked out the shot list, the order of subjects or spaces, any styling considerations, and the timing. On the day, we direct clearly and keep things moving efficiently — most of our clients are surprised by how much we accomplish and how little disruption it causes to their team's day.
How long does a corporate headshot session take?
Individual headshot sessions typically run 15 to 20 minutes per person. Team sessions are planned in advance so we can schedule each person in a slot that minimises time away from their work. We'll give you a clear run-of-show before shoot day so your team knows exactly when to show up.
What is the turnaround time for delivering photos?
Turnaround varies by project scope and is confirmed at booking. We discuss delivery timelines with every client before the shoot so expectations are clear from the start. Rush delivery is available on request.
In what format do we receive the final images?
High-resolution digital files delivered via an online gallery. Web-optimised versions for immediate use online are included. If you need specific file formats, sizes, or naming conventions for your team or CMS, let us know in advance and we'll accommodate.
What should our team wear for headshots?
Solid colours photograph better than busy patterns. Avoid bright white, which can overexpose, and neon tones, which cast colour. Aim for clothing that represents how you'd actually show up to meet an important client. We send detailed styling guidance to every client before shoot day — you'll have plenty of time to prepare.
How far in advance should we book?
For team shoots and multi-service sessions, two to four weeks lead time is ideal. For solo headshots, we can often work within a shorter window. If you have a firm deadline — a website launch, an event, a campaign — tell us upfront and we'll work backwards from there.
PRICING
How much does corporate headshot photography cost in Calgary?
Pricing depends on the number of people, session length, location (your office vs. our studio), and what deliverables you need. We don't publish flat rates because one-size-fits-all pricing typically means you're paying for things you don't need or leaving things out you do. Contact us through freitagphoto.com/contact and we'll put together a clear, itemised proposal.
Do you charge travel fees for on-location shoots in Calgary?
Travel within Calgary and the immediate surrounding area is included. For locations farther afield — rural Alberta, other cities — travel is factored into the project proposal and discussed transparently upfront.
Is retouching included in the price?
Yes. Standard retouching — colour correction, exposure balancing, and clean professional finishing — is included. Extended retouching (significant compositing, background replacement, or heavy manipulation) is available as an add-on and quoted separately.
Can we license images for use in advertising and paid media?
Yes. Commercial licensing for advertising, paid social, out-of-home, and other media is available. Licensing terms and fees depend on the scope and duration of use. If you know you'll need images for paid campaigns, mention it at the outset so we can include the right licensing in your proposal.
ABOUT US
Who owns and runs Freitag Photo?
Freitag Photo is owned and operated by David and Breanne Heidrich, a husband-and-wife team based in Alberta. David leads the creative direction with a background in graphic design, advertising, and 15 years behind the camera. Breanne manages client experience, logistics, and on-set coordination.
How long have you been in business?
15 years of professional photography experience. Freitag Photo is the commercial studio branch of that work, focused exclusively on business photography.
What kinds of businesses have you worked with?
We've worked across a wide range of industries including professional services, engineering, financial services, architecture, interior design, real estate development, hospitality, technology, and consumer products. Past clients include RBC Wealth Management, Collabor8 Architecture, Jukebox Print, Westbow Systems, Topshelf Energy, and Fraction Energy, among others.
Why is the studio called Freitag Photo?
Freitag (pronounced fry-tahk) is the German word for Friday — the day most associated with the end of the work week and the start of something worth celebrating. It felt like the right name for a studio built around making work look good.
Is Freitag Photo related to Heidrich Photography?
Yes. David and Breanne Heidrich also operate Heidrich Photography (heidrichphotography.com), a wedding and destination photography studio specialising in Calgary, Banff, Lake Louise, and the Canadian Rockies. Freitag Photo is their dedicated commercial studio — same people, separate focus.
Where is Freitag Photo located and what areas do you serve?
We're based in Calgary, Alberta, and serve clients throughout Calgary, Okotoks, Airdrie, Cochrane, Chestermere, and the surrounding region. On-location shoots are available across Alberta.
